Brian R. Smith has served on our Board since September 2011. Mr. Smith is the founder of S3 Ventures, a venture capital firm, and has served as its Managing Director since 2005. Previously, he founded and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Crossroads Systems, Inc. Mr. Smith currently serves on a select number of private company boards, including Liquibase, Inc., an enterprise software provider, Alleviant Medical, a medical device company, Endovascular Engineering, a medical device company, and VUV Analytics, Inc., a spectroscopy provider. Mr. Smith earned a B.S. in electrical engineering with honors from the University of Cincinnati and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University. We believe Mr. Smith is qualified to serve on our Board because of his experience as an investor and as an executive and board director.
