Shelley Webb serves as Chief Legal Officer at Aurora Innovation Inc. (NASDAQ: AUR), a pioneering company in autonomous driving technology for trucks and passenger vehicles. In this role, she leads the global legal team, overseeing regulatory compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, commercial transactions, and risk management. Webb plays a pivotal role in navigating the complex regulatory landscape for autonomous vehicles, advising on partnerships with industry leaders like Volvo, PACCAR, and Uber Freight, and ensuring Aurora's safe deployment of driverless technology on public roads. With over 18 years of experience in tech and transportation law, Webb joined Aurora in 2021 from Uber, where she was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. At Uber, she spearheaded legal strategies for the Advanced Technologies Group, managing high-stakes regulatory approvals, privacy initiatives, and litigation related to autonomous vehicles. Prior to Uber, she spent a decade at Google in senior legal positions, handling advertising, consumer products, and emerging technology matters, including early work on data privacy and antitrust issues. Webb's achievements include successfully guiding multiple AV regulatory filings with bodies like the California DMV and NHTSA, contributing to landmark approvals for commercial autonomous trucking operations. A Stanford Law School graduate (J.D., 2005) and Stanford University alumna (B.A., 2001), she clerked for Judge Stephen Reinhardt on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Recognized as a leading lawyer in privacy and transportation by Chambers USA, Webb is a frequent speaker on AV regulation and ethics in innovation.
