Craig S. Donohue serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Cboe Global Markets Inc., the world's largest stock exchange operator by options trading volume and a leader in derivatives and securities marketplaces. Joining Cboe in 1995 as a systems specialist, Donohue rapidly advanced through key technical and operational roles, including Vice President of Technology, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. His deep expertise in exchange technology and operations laid the foundation for his leadership in transforming Cboe into a global powerhouse. During his first tenure as CEO from 2006 to 2013, Donohue orchestrated the demutualization of the Chicago Board Options Exchange and guided its landmark initial public offering in 2010, unlocking new capital for growth amid the global financial crisis. He drove innovation in products like VIX futures and options, expanded international reach, and enhanced trading infrastructure, significantly boosting revenue and market share. Following his departure, Donohue served as Chief Operating Officer of Global Trading at Citadel LLC, managing high-frequency trading and execution services for one of the world's largest hedge funds. Returning as CEO and President in September 2021, Donohue has refocused Cboe on strategic priorities, including the acquisition of ErisX to bolster digital asset capabilities, technological advancements in cloud-based trading platforms, and expansion into new markets like Europe and Asia. Under his leadership, Cboe has achieved record trading volumes, strengthened its position in volatility products, and pursued sustainable growth, solidifying its role as an innovator in the evolving financial ecosystem.
