In 2011, he joined Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. as Executive Vice President of Maritime, guiding the company through rapid fleet growth, implementing industry-leading safety standards, and achieving top-tier performance in environmental compliance and risk management. Since joining Carnival Corporation in 2019, Ljoen has driven transformative initiatives, such as enhanced digital navigation systems, rigorous training programs, and decarbonization strategies to reduce emissions.
