Prior to joining CG Oncology in 2021, Dr. Kasturi held senior roles at leading pharmaceutical companies, including Executive Director of Clinical Development at Merck & Co., where he spearheaded the clinical program for pembrolizumab (Keytruda) in urothelial carcinoma. His leadership was instrumental in securing multiple FDA approvals for the therapy in advanced and non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), transforming treatment paradigms and authoring numerous peer-reviewed publications and guidelines. Earlier positions at Astellas Pharma and EMD Serono honed his focus on bladder cancer therapeutics, including investigational agents and combination regimens. At CG Oncology, Dr. Kasturi oversees the clinical development strategy for cretostimogene grenadenorepvec (CG0070), an investigational oncolytic immunotherapy designed to induce selective tumor cell lysis and stimulate anti-tumor immune responses in NMIBC patients unresponsive to Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG). Under his guidance, the company has advanced pivotal Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials, including the BOND-003 study, positioning CG Oncology at the forefront of bladder cancer innovation with promising data on durable complete responses.
