With more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, Borgmann has built a distinguished career focused on strategic planning, business development, and operational leadership. Prior to joining Calumet, he held progressive roles at Valero Energy Corporation, where he honed his expertise in refining, marketing, and commercial operations, contributing to multimillion-dollar growth initiatives and process optimizations. Borgmann joined Calumet in 2013 as Vice President of Strategic Planning and quickly ascended through key leadership positions, including Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In February 2021, he was appointed President and CEO, guiding the company through significant transformations. His tenure has been marked by landmark achievements, such as the strategic pivot to renewable fuels, including the development of the world's first fully commercial sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility at Calumet's San Antonio refinery and expansions into renewable diesel production.
