Richard A. Miller, M.D., is the co-founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Corvus Pharmaceuticals Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing first-in-class immune modulating therapies for cancers and infectious diseases. A renowned physician-scientist, Dr. Miller received his M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in medical oncology at Stanford University Medical Center. He spent over 30 years on the Stanford faculty, rising to Professor of Medicine (Oncology) and Associate Chief of the Division of Oncology, where he directed pioneering clinical research in cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Miller's career is marked by transformative achievements in biotechnology, including co-founding IDEC Pharmaceuticals (now part of Biogen), which developed Rituxan (rituximab)—the first monoclonal antibody approved for cancer treatment—and Corixa Corporation, acquired by GlaxoSmithKline for $300 million. With over 150 peer-reviewed publications, numerous patents, and leadership in advancing immune-based therapies, he has shaped the field of oncology. At Corvus, founded in 2014, Dr. Miller directs the development of the company's lead candidate, soquelitinib (CPI-818), a novel oral ITK inhibitor in Phase 1/1b trials for peripheral T cell lymphoma and solid tumors, driving innovation in harnessing regulatory T cells for therapeutic benefit.
