Richard J. Lindahl serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer at Emergent BioSolutions Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on public health solutions. He joined the company in 2012 as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, advancing through progressive leadership roles due to his expertise in financial strategy and operations. In his current capacity, Lindahl oversees all aspects of corporate finance, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, investor relations, and internal audit, playing a pivotal role in supporting the company's mission to develop and deliver life-saving medical countermeasures against emerging public health threats. Prior to Emergent, Lindahl held senior finance positions at Human Genome Sciences, Inc., where he served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer, managing global treasury operations, capital markets activities, and financial reporting during a period of significant growth and eventual acquisition by GlaxoSmithKline in 2012. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade at Lockheed Martin Corporation in various finance roles, including Director of Finance for the Information Systems business unit, honing his skills in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning for large-scale defense and technology operations. Lindahl holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Under Lindahl's leadership, Emergent has navigated complex financial landscapes, including securing substantial government contracts for biodefense products like BioThrax and ACAM2000, executing strategic acquisitions such as Cangene Corporation, and managing public equity offerings and debt financings to fuel expansion. His contributions have been instrumental in maintaining the company's strong balance sheet and investor confidence, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when Emergent ramped up production of critical vaccines and therapeutics for federal partners.
