Exec VP Upstream
Executive Compensation
Sarah Fenton is the Executive Vice President, Upstream at EQT Corporation, the largest natural gas producer in the United States. In this pivotal role, she leads all upstream operations, including leasing, drilling, completions, and production across EQT's premier Marcellus and Utica shale acreage in the Appalachian Basin. Under her stewardship since 2021, EQT has achieved record production volumes exceeding 6 Bcfe per day, implemented industry-leading cost reductions of over 50% since 2020, and pioneered emissions abatement technologies, positioning the company as a low-cost, low-emission leader in the sector. Fenton joined EQT in 2017 following the company's transformative $6.7 billion acquisition of Rice Energy, where she served as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Planning. At Rice, she played a key role in the company's rapid growth from a startup to a top-tier producer, managing investor communications, strategic planning, and the successful execution of the EQT merger. Prior to Rice, Fenton spent nearly a decade at Deutsche Bank Securities in the energy investment banking group, advising on high-profile M&A transactions, equity offerings, and debt financings totaling billions of dollars in the upstream oil and gas space. With over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, Fenton's expertise in operations, finance, and corporate strategy has driven EQT's operational excellence and sustainability initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University and serves on the board of the America's Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA), advocating for the responsible development of natural gas resources.
