Under Thompson's leadership, Diamondback has executed transformative strategic initiatives, including the $9.2 billion acquisition of Energen Resources in 2018, the $300 million Ratler Field acquisition, and the landmark $26 billion all-stock merger with Endeavor Energy Resources in 2024, which solidified the company's position as a Permian powerhouse with over 490,000 net acres and substantial production growth.
