Earlier, he spent 23 years at Ohio-based American Electric Power Company, Inc., one of the United States' largest investor-owned utilities. At American Electric Power he held numerous leadership positions, including executive vice president of Strategy and more than 11 years as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Tierney earned his bachelor's degree from Boston College and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He also served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of the Philippines. With a career spanning 30 years in the electric utility industry, Mr. Tierney has developed extensive leadership, operational and commercial experience.
