AmirAli Talasaz is our co-founder and served as Chairperson of our Board, President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) from January 2013 until August 2021. On August 5, 2021, the Company appointed Dr. Talasaz as Co-CEO of the Company. On the same day, Dr. Talasaz resigned his position as Chairperson of the Board and as President and COO of the Company. Prior to co-founding our company, Dr. Talasaz held various positions at Illumina, Inc., including Senior Director of Diagnostics Research from October 2011 to June 2012, where he led the efforts for emerging clinical applications of next-generation genomic analysis. During that time, he developed different genomic technologies suitable for clinical applications. In March 2008, he founded Auriphex Biosciences, Inc., which focused on purification and genetic analysis of circulating tumor cells for cancer management. The technology was acquired by lllumina, Inc. in 2009. During his academic years, he led the Technology Development group at the Stanford Genome Technology Center. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, M.S. degree in electrical engineering and M.S. degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University. We believe that Dr. Talasaz is qualified to serve as a member of our Board due to his extensive knowledge of our company as co-founder and Co-CEO and his knowledge of the life sciences and biotechnology industries.
