Jérôme Maironi is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Garrett Motion Inc., a global leader in turbocharger and electric vehicle boosting technologies. In this role, he leads the company's global legal function, overseeing corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, intellectual property strategy, and commercial transactions. Maironi provides strategic counsel to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors, playing a critical role in navigating complex legal landscapes amid the automotive industry's shift toward electrification, sustainability, and digital transformation. With more than 25 years of international legal experience, Maironi began his career at premier law firms in Geneva and Paris, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and cross-border deals. He joined Honeywell International in 2008, rising to Vice President and Associate General Counsel for the Transportation Systems division, where he spearheaded legal aspects of major initiatives, including the 2018 spin-off of Garrett Motion from Honeywell—a landmark transaction valued at over $12 billion. His expertise earned him recognition as a top in-house counsel by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500. At Garrett Motion, Maironi has driven key achievements, such as resolving legacy Honeywell liabilities, strengthening IP portfolios amid rising electrification demands, and facilitating strategic partnerships and restructurings that enhanced shareholder value.
