Charles W. Melko serves as Senior Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (HASI), a leading climate-positive investment firm. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax strategy, financial planning and analysis, SEC reporting, and investor relations. Melko joined HASI in 2015, bringing over two decades of expertise in corporate finance, capital markets, and strategic financial management within the energy and infrastructure sectors. Prior to HASI, Melko held senior leadership positions at Pepco Holdings, Inc., where he most recently served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer. There, he directed treasury operations, managed debt issuances exceeding $2 billion, and led financial aspects of major acquisitions and regulatory initiatives. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche, focusing on energy clients, which honed his skills in financial reporting and compliance. Under Melko's stewardship, HASI has achieved significant growth, expanding its investment portfolio to over $12 billion in climate solutions while maintaining strong financial discipline and accessing innovative financing structures like green bonds and securitizations. A Certified Public Accountant, Melko holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware and an M.B.A. from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
