Executive Vice President and President, Ingalls Shipbuilding
Executive Compensation
Brian D. Blanchette serves as Executive Vice President of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) and President of Ingalls Shipbuilding, a position he assumed in April 2021. With over three decades of leadership experience at Ingalls, Blanchette has been instrumental in advancing the company's role as a premier builder of U.S. Navy surface combatants. He joined Ingalls in 1988 as a designer in the structural design group and steadily progressed through key roles, including Vice President of the CVN 78 Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier program, Vice President of operations for the destroyer and cruiser portfolio, and Vice President in charge of the littoral combat ship and joint high-speed vessel programs. Under Blanchette's leadership, Ingalls has achieved significant milestones, including the delivery of multiple Arleigh Burke-class (DDG 51) destroyers, San Antonio-class amphibious transport docks, America-class amphibious assault ships, and the Legend-class National Security Cutters for the U.S. Coast Guard. Notable accomplishments include overseeing the successful launch and delivery of USS Portland (LPD 27), the final San Antonio-class flight I ship, and advancing production on the next-generation Constellation-class frigates (FFG 62). His strategic oversight has driven operational efficiencies, workforce development, and on-time deliveries, earning him recognition for strengthening Ingalls' position as a vital contributor to national defense. As President, Blanchette directs all aspects of Ingalls Shipbuilding's operations in Pascagoula, Mississippi, managing a workforce of approximately 12,000 employees focused on designing, constructing, and delivering advanced warships. He emphasizes innovation, safety, and supplier partnerships to meet the Navy's growing fleet requirements, while fostering a culture of excellence that supports HII's mission to build the world's most powerful ships and technologies.
