Amir H. Shojaei, Ph.D., is the Chief Scientific Officer at Harrow Inc., where he spearheads the company's scientific strategy, pipeline development, and innovation in ophthalmic therapeutics. With more than 20 years of leadership in pharmaceutical research and development, Dr. Shojaei brings deep expertise in drug discovery, clinical translation, and regulatory affairs, particularly in ophthalmology. He joined Harrow in 2022 to advance its mission of delivering novel, patient-centric solutions for corneal health and anterior segment diseases. Prior to Harrow, Dr. Shojaei served as Global Head of Research & Development for Pharmaceuticals at Bausch + Lomb, overseeing a portfolio of investigational and commercial products. At Allergan (now AbbVie), he led cross-functional teams that successfully developed VUITY™ (pilocarpine HCl ophthalmic solution) 1.25%, the first FDA-approved eye drop for presbyopia, along with other landmark therapies for glaucoma, dry eye, and retinal disorders. His career highlights include advancing over a dozen candidates into clinical stages, securing multiple FDA approvals, and publishing extensively in peer-reviewed journals on molecular pharmacology and ocular drug delivery. At Harrow, Dr. Shojaei drives the expansion of proprietary platforms like ITE® (Imprimis Toric Exchange) and TRS® (Tear Reservoir System), fostering collaborations with key opinion leaders and accelerating late-stage programs.
