Mr. Tengel, 63, joined the Company as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Company and Chief Executive Officer of Rockland Trust in February of 2023. In June of 2025 he became the President of Rockland Trust. Prior to joining the Company and Rockland Trust, he served as Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Commercial Specialty Banking at M&T Bank from April 2022 to February 2023. Before M&T s acquisition of People s United Financial in April 2022, Mr. Tengel was President of People s United from May 2018 to April 2022 where he was responsible for commercial banking, retail banking, and wealth management. He joined People s United in 2010 from PNC Bank where he served as Executive Vice President. Mr. Tengel currently serves on the Board of Directors at FamilyAid, Massachusetts Business Roundtable, The New England Council and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. He previously served on the Board of Trustees at Quinnipiac University, Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, Kolbe Cathedral High School and Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Tengel received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Marquette University and his Master s Degree in Business Administration from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
