Daniel Kirby is the Chief Commercial Officer at Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company pioneering tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapies for advanced cancers. In this role, which he assumed in 2022, Kirby oversees the end-to-end commercialization strategy, including the U.S. launch of Amtagvi™ (lifileucel), the first FDA-approved TIL therapy for patients with unresectable or metastatic melanoma previously treated with other therapies. He leads efforts to build market access, sales infrastructure, medical affairs, and payer strategies, driving the company's transition from clinical development to commercial-stage operations. With over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, Kirby brings deep expertise in oncology and cell therapy commercialization. Prior to Iovance, he served as Head of U.S. Commercial for Cell Therapy at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), where he spearheaded the launches of Breyanzi® and Abecma®, two CAR T-cell therapies that achieved blockbuster status and rapid market adoption. His tenure at BMS included scaling commercial operations, optimizing reimbursement, and expanding patient access, resulting in over $1 billion in combined annual revenues within three years. Earlier roles at Celgene Corporation (acquired by BMS) encompassed senior positions in U.S. and global commercial leadership for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, including the launches of Revlimid®, Abraxane®, and other key franchises. Kirby's track record of successfully commercializing first-in-class therapies has been pivotal to Iovance's growth, positioning the company to expand Amtagvi into additional indications and international markets while fostering innovation in personalized cancer treatments.
