Prior to joining Gartner in April 2021, Kim amassed over two decades of senior legal experience in media and entertainment. At ViacomCBS (now Paramount Global), he served as Executive Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer from 2014 to 2021, where he managed legal affairs for a portfolio spanning CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Pictures. This included guiding high-stakes transactions like the Viacom-CBS merger and implementing robust compliance programs amid evolving media regulations. Earlier in his career, Kim spent 16 years at Time Inc. and Time Warner (now Warner Bros. Discovery), rising to Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Corporate Development. There, he spearheaded legal support for transformative deals, such as the Time Warner-Time Warner Cable merger and the acquisition of Turner Broadcasting System.
