Fusen Chen serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Kulicke and Soffa Industries Inc. (K&S), a global leader in semiconductor assembly equipment and advanced packaging solutions. With more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, Chen has been instrumental in driving technological innovation and market expansion. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University, as well as Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Chen’s career began at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), where he focused on process development and equipment engineering. He later advanced to senior leadership roles at Applied Materials, managing global operations for packaging systems and deposition equipment, including the development of advanced interconnect technologies. Joining K&S in 2009 as Vice President of the Ball Bonding Business Unit, he spearheaded the commercialization of next-generation bonding platforms, rising to Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Packaging Solutions Group by 2016. Appointed President and CEO in 2018, Chen has led K&S through transformative growth, achieving record revenues and strengthening its position in high-volume manufacturing for AI, automotive, and high-performance computing. His strategic vision has accelerated innovations like the RAPID™ Pro and POWERFLOW™ platforms, enhancing productivity and enabling advanced packaging solutions such as hybrid bonding and power semiconductors, solidifying K&S’s role at the forefront of the industry.
