Kevin J. O’Connor is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Lockheed Martin Corporation, a position he has held since February 2021. In this role, he oversees the company’s global legal organization, providing strategic counsel to the board of directors, CEO, and senior executives on critical matters including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, government contracts, corporate governance, ethics, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. O’Connor leads efforts to mitigate legal risks in a highly regulated defense and aerospace industry, ensuring alignment with U.S. and international laws while supporting Lockheed Martin’s mission to deliver advanced technology solutions. O’Connor joined Lockheed Martin in April 2018 as Vice President and Counsel, rapidly advancing due to his expertise in complex government contracting and compliance. Previously, he served as Vice President and Sector Counsel for Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Mission Systems sector from 2012 to 2018, where he managed legal support for major programs and international expansions. His earlier career included roles as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at General Dynamics Corporation (2008–2012) and as a partner at McGuireWoods LLP, specializing in aerospace and government contracts litigation and counseling. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A.) and Georgetown University Law Center (J.D.), O’Connor is admitted to the bars of Virginia and the District of Columbia. His achievements include guiding multibillion-dollar transactions, enhancing enterprise-wide compliance programs, and earning recognition from Chambers USA and The Legal 500 for his government contracts practice.
