Rajeev Saggar, M.D., serves as Chief Medical Officer at Liquidia Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative therapies for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and other serious lung diseases. A board-certified specialist in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, and critical care medicine, Dr. Saggar brings over two decades of leadership experience in respiratory medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and pursued fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Stanford University and the University of Southern California (USC). Prior to joining Liquidia in 2021, Dr. Saggar held senior roles at Actelion Pharmaceuticals (now part of Johnson & Johnson), where he advanced to Vice President of U.S. Medical Affairs, overseeing medical strategy for PAH therapies. Earlier, as Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at USC's Keck School of Medicine, he directed the Pulmonary Hypertension Program and led groundbreaking research on right heart failure and lung transplantation. His achievements include numerous peer-reviewed publications, contributions to clinical guidelines, and pivotal involvement in the approval and launch of several PAH treatments, establishing him as a thought leader in the field. At Liquidia, Dr. Saggar drives the clinical development and medical affairs strategy for the company's PRINT®-based inhaled therapies, including YUTREPIA™ (treprostinil) inhalation powder, which received FDA tentative approval for PAH and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease.
