Executive Compensation
Tom Doxey serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Southwest Airlines, a role he assumed in February 2022. With over three decades of experience in finance and accounting, Doxey joined Southwest in 2011 as Vice President Controller. Prior to Southwest, he spent 18 years at Ernst & Young (EY), rising to the position of partner, where he specialized in advising airlines and transportation companies on complex financial and regulatory matters. His early career included roles at Continental Airlines and KPMG, building a strong foundation in audit, financial reporting, and strategic finance. At Southwest, Doxey has held progressively senior positions, including Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer, Senior Vice President of Treasury and Continuous Improvement, and now CFO. He has been instrumental in steering the company's financial strategy through significant challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, where he led efforts to raise over $15 billion in liquidity, including through equity offerings and debt issuances. Under his leadership, Southwest maintained its investment-grade credit ratings and executed share repurchases, demonstrating disciplined capital allocation. Doxey's achievements also include enhancing operational efficiency through technology investments and fostering a culture of financial transparency. A certified public accountant and graduate of the University of Utah, he plays a pivotal role in Southwest's low-cost carrier model, supporting initiatives that prioritize customer experience while delivering strong shareholder returns.
