With over 20 years of experience in the advanced materials sector, Elwart joined SWM International (a Mativ predecessor) in 2007, rising through progressively senior roles. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Marquette University, which have underpinned his expertise in operations, strategy, and product development. Throughout his career, Elwart has driven significant achievements, including spearheading the expansion of air filtration product lines at SWM, resulting in double-digit revenue growth and the launch of breakthrough technologies like high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) media for electric vehicles and cleanroom applications. Prior to the 2022 merger forming Mativ, he served as President of Air Filtration & Advanced Materials, where he optimized manufacturing processes, enhanced supply chain resilience, and fostered key partnerships that strengthened market position in sustainable filtration solutions.
