Bradley D. Kohn is a distinguished legal executive with over three decades of experience in the construction materials and building products industries. He served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and one of the nation's leading suppliers of aggregates and heavy building materials, until his retirement in early 2024. In this pivotal role, which he assumed in 2020 following his prior position as Vice President and General Counsel since joining the company in 2009, Kohn oversaw all legal functions, including corporate governance, securities compliance, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, regulatory affairs, and risk management. His strategic counsel was instrumental in navigating complex transactions, such as the company's major acquisitions and joint ventures that expanded its market presence across the United States. Prior to Martin Marietta, Kohn held senior legal positions at Owens Corning, where he advanced to Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, managing global legal operations for the building materials giant. Earlier, he practiced corporate and commercial litigation at the prominent law firm McGuireWoods LLP, honing his expertise in high-stakes transactions and dispute resolution. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A.) and the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D.), Kohn's career is marked by a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges, including environmental regulations and antitrust matters. Throughout his tenure at Martin Marietta, Kohn earned recognition for fostering a culture of ethical leadership and compliance, contributing to the company's strong governance practices and shareholder value creation. His achievements include successfully leading legal teams through transformative deals, such as the 2021 acquisition of Bluegrass Materials Company, which enhanced Martin Marietta's portfolio in high-growth markets. Post-retirement, Kohn continues to advise on corporate governance and serves on industry boards.
