Mr. Bancel is intimately familiar with our operations and is a key driver behind our culture and way of working. Mr. Bancel s experience prior to joining Moderna as an executive at other companies provides him with leadership experience and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including insight into opportunities for Moderna to reimagine how we can have the greatest impact on patients. Prior to Eli Lilly, Mr. Bancel served as Asia-Pacific Sales and Marketing Director for bioM rieux. He is currently a Venture Partner at Flagship Pioneering. Mr. Bancel was nominated Chevalier of the Legion d'honneur in 2022, the highest recognition in France, and was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering in 2024.
