Robert T. Macalik is a seasoned finance executive with over three decades of experience in the energy industry, specializing in accounting, financial reporting, and strategic financial management. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he honed his expertise in auditing and financial advisory services for oil and gas clients. Macalik later advanced to senior roles at Breitburn Energy Partners LP as Vice President of Accounting and at Halcón Resources Corporation as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, overseeing financial operations during periods of significant growth and restructuring in the upstream energy sector. In 2016, Macalik joined Matador Resources Company, a Dallas-based independent energy company focused on the exploration, development, production, and acquisition of oil and natural gas resources, initially as Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. He was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2018, a position he held until his retirement in 2023. During his tenure, Macalik played a pivotal role in guiding Matador through transformative phases, including major acquisitions like the Delaware Basin assets, debt refinancing, and equity offerings that fueled the company's expansion to over 200,000 net acres and record production levels. Under Macalik's leadership, Matador achieved strong financial discipline, navigating volatile commodity markets while delivering consistent shareholder value through optimized capital allocation and robust SEC reporting. His strategic oversight contributed to the company's market capitalization growth from approximately $1 billion to over $5 billion during his time as CFO. Recognized for his deep industry knowledge and commitment to governance, Macalik remains a respected figure in energy finance, advising on best practices for independent E&P companies.
