John M. Zarance III is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Metallus Inc., a premier producer of special-quality steel products, where he leads the company's global financial strategy, including accounting, treasury, tax, investor relations, financial planning, and risk management. Appointed to this role in May 2024, Zarance plays a pivotal part in driving Metallus's financial performance and supporting its transformation following the company's rebranding from TimkenSteel Corporation in 2024. With over 20 years of experience in corporate finance within the manufacturing and industrial sectors, he brings a proven track record of optimizing capital structures and enhancing operational efficiency. Zarance joined Metallus in 2021 as Vice President, Finance and Treasurer, quickly advancing due to his strategic acumen and deep industry knowledge. Prior to Metallus, he spent more than a decade at The Timken Company in progressively senior finance roles, including Director of Finance for the Steel and Engineered Bearings groups, where he spearheaded financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and profitability initiatives that contributed to significant revenue growth. Earlier positions at Swagelok Company honed his expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and treasury operations. Under Zarance's leadership, Metallus has strengthened its balance sheet, executed key debt refinancings, and delivered robust financial results amid volatile steel markets, positioning the company for long-term shareholder value creation.
