Held the position of President and Chancellor at Duke University from 1999 to 2007. Dr. Johnson was on the faculty of the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1985-1999 as a professor of electrical and computer engineering. Dr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Johnson was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2015 and she is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Inventors. In 2008, she was awarded the John Fritz Medal, widely considered the highest award given in the engineering profession. Dr. Johnson currently serves as Director of Cisco Systems, Inc. since 2012 and Director of DuPont de Nemours, Inc. since 2022. She previously served as a Director of the AES Corporation until 2019 and was a Director of the Company from 2000 to 2009. Dr. Johnson currently serves as a Trustee of Society for Science (2024-present) and is Co-Chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NACIE) within the Department of Commerce (2022-2025). President, Chancellor, Provost, and Dean of nationally recognized academic institutions. Also was co-founder and CEO of private hydropower companies. Dr. Johnson has an engineering background with expertise in science and technology, recently awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by President Biden. Experience as the Undersecretary of Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy and leading state universities. Currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Cisco Systems, Inc. and DuPont de Nemours, Inc., and previously was on the Company s Board as well as the Boards of Directors of other public companies.
