His leadership has been instrumental in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, such as FCC spectrum proceedings, and fostering key partnerships that drive the company's growth. With more than 25 years of experience in technology, telecommunications, and media, Black joined NextNav in 2021 following a distinguished career. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at BlackSky Technology, where he led global legal operations and supported the company's successful public listing via SPAC merger. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at CoStar Group, managing M&A transactions, litigation, and commercial agreements during a period of rapid expansion. Earlier in his career, Black was a partner at Hogan Lovells, specializing in high-stakes technology deals, venture financing, and regulatory counseling for clients in wireless and satellite communications. His notable achievements include orchestrating multimillion-dollar acquisitions, developing robust compliance frameworks for public companies, and advising on pivotal FCC auctions. A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center (J.D.) and the University of Virginia (B.A.), Black's expertise continues to position NextNav at the forefront of resilient location intelligence.
