Lawrence Klein serves as Chief Executive Officer of Oruka Therapeutics Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to developing transformative therapies for vitiligo and other dermatological conditions. With more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, Klein brings deep expertise in dermatology drug development, commercialization, and strategic leadership. He earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, which have underpinned his progression through senior roles at leading industry players. Prior to Oruka, Klein was CEO of Aclaris Therapeutics from 2020 to 2023, where he led the advancement of a robust pipeline of JAK inhibitors and other immunomodulatory therapies for immune-mediated skin diseases, culminating in key regulatory approvals, partnerships, and clinical milestones. Before that, as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Dermatology at Allergan (acquired by AbbVie), he spearheaded the launch of multiple blockbuster products, including DYSPORT and other aesthetic and therapeutic dermatology franchises, generating billions in revenue and establishing Allergan as a market leader. At Oruka, Klein is steering the company’s flagship asset, OK-101—a novel topical therapy targeting the IL-15 pathway—with promising Phase 2a data supporting its potential as a first-in-class treatment for repigmentation in vitiligo patients. Under his guidance, Oruka has secured significant funding, expanded its pipeline, and advanced toward Phase 3 trials, positioning the company to address critical unmet needs in dermatology and deliver meaningful outcomes for patients worldwide.
