Patrick H. Conway has served as a member of our board of directors since March 2026. Since April 2025 Dr. Conway has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Optum, the health services business of UnitedHealth Group. Previously, Dr. Conway served as the Chief Executive Officer of Care Solutions at Optum, CEO of Optum Rx, and CEO of Optum Health from February 2020 to November 2025; as President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina from October 2017 to October 2019; and as Deputy Administrator for Innovation and Quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services from May 2011 to September 2017, where he also served as the agency s Chief Medical Officer, Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), and Acting Administrator in 2017. Dr. Conway is a practicing pediatric hospitalist, a member of the National Academy of Medicine, and a recipient of the President s Senior Executive Distinguished Service Award. He holds an M.D. with High Honors from Baylor College of Medicine, a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor s degree from Texas A&M University. We believe Dr. Conway is qualified to serve on our Board of Directors because of his extensive clinical, regulatory, and healthcare leadership experience.
