Abbie Lennox, Ph.D., serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Perrigo Company plc, a global leader in consumer self-care products. In this role, she drives the company's scientific strategy, overseeing research and development efforts to innovate high-quality, affordable over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and healthcare solutions. With more than 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, Lennox brings deep expertise in drug discovery, development, and commercialization, particularly in gene therapy, rare diseases, and vaccines, ensuring Perrigo remains at the forefront of scientific advancement in the consumer health sector. Prior to joining Perrigo in February 2021 as EVP and Chief Research & Development Officer, Lennox held senior leadership positions at Pfizer, where she served as Senior Vice President and Head of the Gene Therapy Research Unit from 2019 to 2021, and Global Head of the Rare Disease Research Unit before that. At Pfizer, she spearheaded transformative programs that advanced multiple gene therapy candidates into clinical development, resulting in significant milestones such as IND filings and proof-of-concept data in neuromuscular and metabolic diseases. Her earlier career included key roles at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, where she contributed to vaccine development platforms and led cross-functional teams in early-stage research. Lennox's achievements include authoring over 50 peer-reviewed publications, securing numerous patents, and fostering collaborations that have accelerated therapeutic innovations. A graduate with a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Glasgow and a B.Sc. in Genetics, she is recognized for her strategic vision in bridging scientific discovery with commercial impact, positioning Perrigo to expand its portfolio of science-backed self-care products amid evolving healthcare needs.
