Wesley H. With over 25 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, Kaupinen has been instrumental in advancing Pallavella's pipeline, including leading the company's Series A financing of $50 million and initiating the first-in-human clinical trial of its lead candidate, the oral CDK7 inhibitor palvotamab. Kaupinen's distinguished career includes senior leadership roles at Blueprint Medicines, where he served as Chief Business Officer and played a pivotal role in the company's $1 billion-plus IPO and subsequent approvals of multiple oncology drugs, such as ayvakit and pralsetinib. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Alkem Laboratories and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, driving business development, licensing deals, and commercial launches that generated hundreds of millions in revenue. A graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Biochemistry and an MBA from Harvard Business School, Kaupinen is recognized for his expertise in precision medicine and has authored numerous publications on targeted cancer therapies. At Pallavella, Kaupinen oversees all aspects of operations, from R&D and clinical development to corporate strategy and investor relations, with a commitment to accelerating transformative treatments for patients. His achievements have earned him accolades such as the Biotech CEO of the Year award from BioSpace, and he actively mentors emerging leaders in biotech while serving on the boards of several industry organizations.
