Jill Granat serves as Executive Vice President and Global General Counsel at Restaurant Brands International Inc. With over 25 years of experience in corporate law, Granat joined RBI in 2015 as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, bringing expertise from her prior roles at Burger King Corporation, where she was Vice President and Associate General Counsel from 2008 to 2010, and as a partner in the corporate practice at DLA Piper. Earlier in her career, she was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, honing her skills in mergers and acquisitions, securities, and governance matters. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D.) and the University of Michigan (B.A.), Granat has been instrumental in navigating complex international transactions and regulatory landscapes. Granat's tenure at RBI has been marked by significant achievements, including her pivotal role in the 2014 merger between Burger King Worldwide and Tim Hortons to form RBI, as well as subsequent acquisitions such as Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in 2017 and Firehouse Subs in 2021. Promoted to her current position in 2020, she has led legal strategies that supported RBI's expansion to over 28,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries, ensuring compliance amid evolving global regulations, data privacy laws, and franchise disputes. Her leadership has earned recognition, including being named one of the "Most Influential Corporate Lawyers" by Law360. In her role, Granat oversees a global team responsible for all legal functions, including corporate governance, M&A, intellectual property, litigation, regulatory compliance, and risk management. She plays a key advisory role to RBI's Board of Directors and executive leadership, fostering a culture of ethical business practices while driving sustainable growth across the company's diverse portfolio. Granat's strategic foresight continues to position RBI as a resilient leader in the competitive restaurant industry.
