Mr. Thomas is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Copia Group (Copia), a private investment firm which provides bespoke capital solutions for lower middle market companies. Prior to launching Copia, Mr. Thomas served as President of Northern Trust Asset Management, a leading global investment manager with then $1.3 trillion in assets under management and served as a member of the executive management group at Northern Trust Corporation. His executive roles included Head of FlexShares ETFs, President of Northern Trust Securities, and Head of Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Northern Trust Corporation, Mr. Thomas worked at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley in their sales, trading and research divisions. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in accounting from Florida A&M University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a trustee for Rush University and the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry. In 2020, Mr. Thomas was recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America. In 2021, he was named to ThinkAdvisor's class of industry luminaries, and InvestmentNews honored him with a lifetime achievement award.
