SOUTHERN COPPER CORP - Executive Compensation
Vice President Finance and CFO
Executive Compensation
Raúl Jacob serves as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Southern Copper Corporation, a leading integrated producer of copper and other minerals with operations across Peru and Mexico. In this role, he oversees all financial operations, including treasury management, financial reporting, investor relations, risk management, and strategic planning. Jacob plays a critical role in ensuring the company's financial health amid fluctuating commodity markets, supporting capital-intensive projects, and driving sustainable growth for one of the world's largest copper producers. With over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting within the mining sector, Jacob joined Southern Copper in 2002 as Finance Manager following a distinguished tenure at KPMG in Peru, where he led audits and advisory services for major mining and natural resource clients. A Certified Public Accountant, he earned his degree in Public Accounting from Universidad de Lima. His expertise in international financial standards and cross-border transactions has been instrumental in navigating complex regulatory environments. Among his key achievements, Jacob spearheaded multiple successful debt refinancings and bond issuances totaling billions of dollars, optimizing the company's capital structure and reducing financing costs. He has also guided Southern Copper through economic cycles, including the 2008 financial crisis and recent inflationary pressures, while supporting expansions such as the Toquepala and Buenavista projects. Under his leadership, the company has maintained strong investment-grade credit ratings and delivered consistent value to shareholders.
