Mary L. Garceau serves as Senior Vice President – Chief Legal Officer and Secretary at The Sherwin-Williams Company, a Fortune 500 global leader in paints, coatings, and related products. In this role, she provides strategic legal counsel to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior executives, overseeing a comprehensive legal function that includes corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, commercial transactions, and litigation. As Corporate Secretary, Garceau ensures effective board operations and adherence to best governance practices, supporting the company's worldwide operations across more than 120 countries. Garceau joined Sherwin-Williams in 2013 as Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary, rapidly advancing to her current position due to her proven expertise. Prior to Sherwin-Williams, she held senior roles at KeyCorp as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, and at National City Corporation as Associate General Counsel, where she managed complex legal matters in the financial services industry, including regulatory issues and high-stakes transactions. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law (J.D.) and the University of Notre Dame (B.A.), Garceau brings over two decades of experience in corporate law. Her tenure at Sherwin-Williams has been marked by pivotal achievements, including leading the legal aspects of the landmark $11.3 billion acquisition of The Valspar Corporation in 2017, which expanded the company's global footprint.
