Timothy E. Davis, Jr. has served as a member of our Board of Directors since our inception in April 2008, and he is the chairperson of our Compensation Committee. Mr. Davis is our Lead Independent Director and will serve in such role until the conclusion of the Annual Meeting. Mr. Davis has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of BioTissue Holdings Inc., a privately held company focusing on the development and clinical application of human birth tissue-based products for the ocular clinical market, since January 2022. From February 2017 through December 2021, Mr. Davis served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Active Implants, LLC, a company that provides orthopedic implant solutions. Previously, Mr. Davis served as Chief Executive Officer of MicroPort Orthopedics, Inc. and President of the OrthoRecon Business as well as a number of executive positions for of Wright Medical Group, Inc. Prior to his operating career, Mr. Davis spent a decade in the life sciences venture capital industry with MB Venture Partners, LLC, and Vector Fund Management, LP. Mr. Davis received a B.E. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. We believe Mr. Davis experience in the industry, his experience in compensation matters, and his knowledge of our company enable him to make valuable contributions to our Board of Directors.
