S&P GLOBAL INC - Executive Compensation
Former CEO, S&P Dow Jones Indices
Executive Compensation
Daniel Draper served as Chief Executive Officer of S&P Dow Jones Indices, a division of S&P Global Inc., from October 2017 to December 2021. In this role, he led the world's largest index provider, overseeing the development and maintenance of benchmark indices such as the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and a vast array of equity, fixed income, commodity, and alternative asset class benchmarks. Under his stewardship, S&P Dow Jones Indices managed over $20 trillion in assets benchmarked to its products, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of global financial markets and emphasizing innovation in index design, governance, and transparency. Prior to joining S&P Dow Jones Indices, Draper built a distinguished career in the asset management industry. He spent nearly a decade at BlackRock, where he rose to Managing Director and Head of iShares EMEA, driving the growth of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Before BlackRock, he held senior roles at Barclays Global Investors (now part of BlackRock), including Head of iShares Product Strategy and Development, where he pioneered new ETF products and strategies that expanded market access for institutional and retail investors. Draper's achievements include spearheading the expansion of sustainable and smart beta indices, enhancing technological infrastructure for real-time data delivery, and fostering partnerships that integrated S&P DJI benchmarks into leading investment products worldwide. His leadership navigated market volatility, regulatory changes, and the rise of passive investing, leaving a lasting impact on the indices business through a focus on client-centric innovation and robust risk management.
