Eric Aboaf serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of S&P Global Inc., a leading provider of essential intelligence for financial markets. Prior to S&P Global, Aboaf spent more than 20 years at Citigroup, where he rose to Global Head of Treasury and Trade Finance, overseeing funding strategies, liquidity management, and investor relations for one of the world's largest banks. His career also includes early roles in corporate finance and risk management, honing his skills in navigating complex financial landscapes during periods of market volatility. In his current role, Aboaf leads S&P Global's global finance organization, including treasury, tax, controllership, financial planning and analysis, and investor relations. He played a pivotal role in the successful $44 billion merger with IHS Markit in 2022, one of the largest deals in the financial data industry, ensuring seamless integration and value creation for shareholders. Under his leadership, S&P Global has strengthened its balance sheet, optimized capital allocation, and executed significant debt refinancing amid rising interest rates, contributing to robust financial performance and a market-leading credit profile. Aboaf's strategic vision has been instrumental in positioning S&P Global for growth in high-margin areas like ratings, indices, and market intelligence. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Yeshiva University and an M.B.A. from New York University Stern School of Business, and is recognized for his thought leadership on topics such as sustainable finance and corporate funding innovations.
