William Langin serves as Executive Vice President of Exploration & Development at Talos Energy Inc., where he directs the company's exploration strategy, prospect generation, and development activities across its high-impact portfolio in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and offshore Mexico. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Langin is a seasoned geoscientist renowned for his expertise in deepwater exploration, seismic interpretation, and play fairway analysis. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing Talos' ambition to deliver transformative discoveries and build a robust inventory of development-ready assets. Prior to joining Talos in 2017 as Vice President of Exploration, Langin held progressively senior geoscience roles at BP for over two decades, contributing to major Gulf of Mexico projects such as the Thunder Horse and Atlantis fields. At BP, he led multidisciplinary teams in high-grading exploration opportunities, resulting in multiple commercial discoveries and significant reserve additions. His track record includes pioneering applications of advanced geophysical technologies to de-risk complex subsurface targets in frontier basins. Since arriving at Talos, Langin has overseen pivotal achievements, including the landmark Zama oil discovery in Mexico's Sureste Basin—one of the largest finds in the Western Hemisphere in recent years—and the progression of key Gulf of Mexico assets like the Venice and Ginger fields toward production. Promoted to Senior Vice President in 2019 and EVP in 2021, he has fostered strategic partnerships, such as with Repsol on Zama, while optimizing Talos' exploration portfolio to support long-term value creation and sustainable growth.
