Biography
Zachary B. Dailey serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Talos Energy Inc., a premier independent exploration and production company focused on high-impact deepwater assets in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and offshore Mexico. In this pivotal role since joining the company in 2021, Dailey oversees all aspects of financial strategy, including capital allocation, investor relations, treasury operations, risk management, and corporate development. His leadership has been instrumental in positioning Talos for sustainable growth amid volatile energy markets, driving disciplined capital deployment and value creation for shareholders. Prior to Talos, Dailey held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Stone Energy Corporation from 2016 to 2020, where he spearheaded financial restructuring efforts, debt refinancings, and the company's eventual acquisition by Tellurian Inc. Earlier, as Managing Director in the Energy & Power Investment Banking Group at Jefferies & Company (2014-2016), he advised on over $20 billion in M&A transactions, equity offerings, and debt financings for upstream energy clients. Dailey's career began at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (2005-2011) and continued at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. (2011-2014), where he developed deep expertise in energy sector deal-making. Dailey's notable achievements at Talos include orchestrating the landmark $1.1 billion acquisition of QuarterNorth Energy in 2024, which significantly expanded the company's high-quality inventory, and executing innovative financing structures such as royalty financing and asset-level debt to fund growth initiatives. A University of Texas at Austin alumnus with a BBA in Finance, Dailey's blend of investment banking prowess and operational finance experience continues to fortify Talos's competitive edge in the global energy landscape.
