A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, Fleshhood began his career at Wells Fargo Bank in the early 1980s as a management trainee. He progressed rapidly through roles in retail banking, credit operations, and regional management, honing his skills in process optimization and risk mitigation during pivotal industry shifts like deregulation and digital transformation. In 2008, Fleshhood joined TriCo Bancshares as Senior Vice President of Operations, ascending to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2013. In this capacity, he directed all core operational functions, including information technology, deposit operations, compliance, and facility management across the company’s 60+ branches in California. His leadership drove a 40% improvement in operational efficiency, spearheaded the implementation of advanced cybersecurity measures, and supported asset growth from $3 billion to over $7 billion by streamlining back-office processes and enhancing customer service protocols. Fleshhood retired from TriCo Bancshares in 2022, leaving an enduring legacy of innovation and stability. His tenure was marked by numerous accolades, including the California Bankers Association’s Operational Leadership Award in 2019, and he continues to serve as an advisor to fintech startups, mentoring the next generation of banking leaders.
