Eric Lefkofsky is a serial entrepreneur and technology pioneer, serving as Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Tempus AI Inc., a leading AI-driven precision medicine company. Born in 1969 in Southfield, Michigan, he graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor. Lefkofsky launched his career in the late 1990s, co-founding Starbelly.com, an internet promotions firm acquired by Halo Group in 2000, followed by InnerWorkings, a print procurement services provider that went public in 2006. He later established Echo Global Logistics, which achieved an IPO in 2009, and MediaBank, rebranded as Mediaocean, a major advertising technology platform. In 2010, Lefkofsky co-founded Groupon, the pioneering daily deals marketplace that disrupted e-commerce and executed one of the most rapid and high-profile IPOs in 2011, reaching a peak valuation of over $12 billion. Inspired by his wife's diagnosis with breast cancer, he founded Tempus in 2015 to harness artificial intelligence, massive clinical data, and genomic sequencing for advancing personalized cancer treatments and drug discovery. Under Lefkofsky's leadership, Tempus AI Inc. has amassed the world's largest library of multimodal data, partnering with top healthcare providers, pharmaceutical firms, and research institutions to accelerate precision medicine. The company went public in June 2024 on Nasdaq under the ticker "TEM," solidifying its position at the forefront of AI in healthcare and demonstrating Lefkofsky's track record of building transformative, high-growth enterprises.
