Allen E. Lyda serves as Chief Operating Officer at Tejon Ranch Company, a leading diversified real asset manager with extensive holdings in California’s San Joaquin Valley. With more than 40 years of experience in agribusiness, real estate, and renewable energy, Lyda brings a wealth of expertise to his role. A graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business, he began his career in various operational and management positions within the agricultural sector, honing skills in crop production, water resource management, and land development. Lyda joined Tejon Ranch in 2003 as Vice President of Agricultural Operations, where he spearheaded initiatives to enhance productivity and sustainability across the company’s 270,000 acres of farmland. His leadership transformed the agricultural division, achieving record almond and pistachio yields while implementing cutting-edge irrigation technologies that conserved water amid California’s droughts. Promoted to COO in 2015, Lyda has overseen key achievements, including the expansion of the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center—a 1,000+ acre master-planned industrial park—and the development of over 1 million solar panels, generating clean energy and substantial revenue. Today, as COO, Lyda directs all facets of Tejon Ranch’s operations, from farming and ranching to industrial, retail, and resort development projects. His strategic oversight has positioned the company for long-term growth, balancing economic viability with environmental stewardship.
