Dr. Sugar has served as the Independent Chairperson of our Board since July 2018. Dr. Sugar was Chairman of the board and Chief Executive Officer of Northrop Grumman Corporation, a global aerospace and defense company, from 2003 until his retirement in 2010, and President and Chief Operating Officer from 2001 until 2003. He was President and Chief Operating Officer of Litton Industries, Inc. from 2000 until the company was acquired by Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2001. Prior to that time, he served as Chief Financial Officer of TRW Inc. Dr. Sugar is an adviser to Bain & Company and was formerly an adviser to Ares Management LLC and to Singapore s Temasek Investment Company. He is a trustee of the University of Southern California, board of visitors member of the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Management, past Chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Sugar currently serves on the board of Apple Inc. He previously served on the board of Air Lease Corporation from 2010 to 2020, the board of Chevron Corporation from 2005 to 2023, and the board of Amgen, Inc. from 2010 to 2024.
