Heather Ohlberg is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Urban Edge Properties, a New York-based real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on owning, managing, acquiring, developing, and redeveloping retail real estate in high-density urban markets. In this capacity, she leads the company's legal department, overseeing all aspects of corporate governance, securities compliance, mergers and acquisitions, leasing, litigation, and risk management. Ohlberg serves as a key advisor to the executive team and Board of Directors, ensuring strategic decisions align with regulatory requirements and best practices in the dynamic real estate sector. Prior to joining Urban Edge in 2015, Ohlberg spent more than 12 years at Vornado Realty Trust, one of the largest owners of commercial real estate in New York, where she advanced to Vice President and Senior Counsel. Her responsibilities there included structuring complex real estate transactions, financings, joint ventures, and dispositions across office, retail, and residential properties. Earlier in her career, she practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, specializing in real estate and corporate law. Ohlberg earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Ohlberg's tenure at Urban Edge has been marked by significant achievements, including guiding the company through high-profile acquisitions, spin-offs, and capital market transactions that have enhanced portfolio value and shareholder returns. Her proactive approach to legal strategy has fortified the company's resilience amid market volatility, earning her recognition as a leader in REIT governance and urban real estate law.
