Bryan Pechersky is the Executive Vice President – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Upbound Group, Inc., a leading provider of technology-enabled lease-to-own solutions. In this pivotal role, he leads the company's global legal team, overseeing all aspects of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, and risk management. As Corporate Secretary, Pechersky also manages board and shareholder relations, ensuring alignment with best practices in corporate stewardship and transparency. With over 25 years of experience in corporate law, Pechersky joined Upbound Group (formerly Rent-A-Center) in 2007 as Associate General Counsel and steadily advanced through senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President – Deputy General Counsel. Prior to Upbound, he practiced at prominent law firms such as Haynes and Boone, LLP, where he specialized in securities law, corporate finance, and complex litigation. His expertise spans the retail and consumer finance sectors, with a proven track record in navigating highly regulated environments. Among his notable achievements, Pechersky played a key role in the company's 2021 rebranding to Upbound Group, Inc., and its transition to a public holding company structure, including the successful execution of strategic acquisitions and divestitures. He has been instrumental in defending the firm against industry-specific regulatory challenges, enhancing compliance programs, and fostering sustainable growth. Pechersky holds a J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and he is admitted to practice in Texas and before numerous federal courts.
