Benjamin Hawksworth serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Western Union Company, where he leads the global finance organization, including treasury, tax, investor relations, corporate development, and financial planning and analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Manchester and an MBA from the London Business School, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Prior to Western Union, Hawksworth spent more than a decade at General Electric, rising to Vice President of Finance for GE Capital's international operations, where he spearheaded the integration of major acquisitions and optimized capital structures across 50 countries, contributing to over $2 billion in cost savings. Earlier in his career, he held progressive finance roles at KPMG and Barclays, honing his expertise in risk management and regulatory compliance during the global financial crisis. His strategic foresight has been instrumental in navigating complex markets, earning him recognition as a top finance executive by CFO Magazine. At Western Union, Hawksworth has been pivotal in transforming the company's financial strategy amid digital disruption and regulatory shifts, overseeing a $500 million debt refinancing that strengthened the balance sheet and supported expansion into fintech partnerships. Under his leadership, Western Union achieved record profitability in 2022, with improved EBITDA margins and enhanced shareholder returns through disciplined capital allocation.
